Dear Jeff, We’ve been coming to Roatan for eight years, seven of which have been spent at Seagrape. We’ve walked past Casa Calico countless times, never giving it a second glance. This year, we enjoyed breakfast and dinner with you a couple of times and really enjoyed ourselves. Dinners were excellent! We also fell in love with Petey! We wish you the best of luck in your endeavor. Regards, |

Hi Jeff, It was nice of you to check in to see how we enjoyed our vacation. Its funny I had planned to write to tell you how much we enjoyed Roatan and our stay at Casa Calico. I am sure it is helpful for your business to know why we choose Casa Calico and our impression of the accommodations! I am happy to share this info with you. As I am sure you are aware, I did much research and emailing before the trip. I had received many responses but your email responses were the most informative, the most prompt and basically the coolest. Coolest in the way that you were easy going, not aggressive or pushy, not looking for us to jump through hoops to get you a deposit or pay up front etc. It was just my gut feeling that the accommodations would be just as you described them that you were sincere that you offer a nice set up and that we would be content with our stay there. I respect your level of trust - that in general people are good - and that a commitment from both parties - for us to show up and from you that a room would be awaiting - was good with you - as it was with us. We arrived at Casa Calico and were greeted by Lilli who was absolutely a doll. She was a huge source of information and hugely accommodating about lending us her telephone several times so we could make necessary arrangements for diving and visiting other parts of the island and the rental car. On two occasions, and I am not sure of his name, the cook stayed late - after he was nearly finished with his clean up - to feed us. I had come in from two separate night dives, JoAnn had waited for me for dinner. Seeing that we were hungry he offered to stay late and cook us up two very delicious meals. Speaking of the restaurant. Phil is doing a fabulous job. We actually ate there three times and each and every meal was excellent. On the last night Andy and his gang played and that was really a good time. As far as complaints - really we don't have any. Both JoAnn and I agreed that we didn't see another place we would have liked to stay more then Casa Calico and we will most definitely recommend your hotel to anyone we know who plans a trip to Roatan. I've done the backpacking thing years ago and it is nice to have that vibe going without have to live it again. The hotel has a fantastic location just close enough to the action yet quiet and off the main drag. Being that we are in our late 30's we were not looking for action all night long and it was nice that early in the evening things at Casa Calico were quiet. Feel free to use me as a reference. You are welcome to give my email address to anyone thinking of staying with you who might want to have a recommendation from a guest. Thanks! Hi Jeff, I just wanted to thank you for all your help. Our trip was amazing. My mother, my father, my wife, and my mother-in-law were really amazed with Roatan. My kids really enjoyed it. Your hotel was not what I expected....it is MORE than what I thought it was going to be. We were in a clean, safe and familiar environment. We had plenty of room, plenty of water, a fully-equipped kitchen and the best of all a quiet area away from the noise. When we were walking in the West End, we were looking at them and saw the difference between them and Casa Calico. Ms. Lilly is really a very nice, kind and helpful person. If I ever go to Roatan again, I will not hesitate to get lodged at Casa Calico again. Thank you again, and have a nice day. Sincerely, |
